Blazblue story time
I spent this evening watching (most of) Blazblue Chronophantasma’s story mode and this is what I’ve taken away:
- Noel, Makoto and Tsubaki cry every tiem
- Azarel is big ol’ waste of time
- Nobody thought to write a story for Bullet, huh?
- SHUT UP KAGURA
- Being Raaaguuuunaaa is suffering
- Time may be short but there’s no tragedy that can’t wait for a long, involved conversation about what it is you’re fighting for. Remember, it’s okay to repeat yourself two or three or eleventy billion times, too!
- but seriously there’s SO MUCH KAGURA and i just can’t give any fucks
So that’s it, that’s all there is to know about Blazblue Chronophantasma.
I hope in the next BB installment Tsubaki gets to skewer some people WITH JUSTICE.
someone* on FFA had this crack theory that Bullet was going to turn out to be Lord Tenjou’s kid, and for a while I was extremely invested in the idea that it was Amane and I was super disappointed that as far as I can tell, not only did neither of those turn out to be the case but neither character actually had any plot attached to them
Someone ought to write some kind of 13 Ways of Looking at Lord Tenjou’s Missing Plot Device Child I guess
I think somebody I know actually managed to acquire the game so I should actually go through Story Mode. I…will probably like Kagura I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE I have a weird weakness for shitty video game casanovas orz
is he shippable with Bang? I must know
*statistically speaking this was probably lynxiae but it was long enough ago and anon enough that I can’t be certain
That was indeed me. I still prefer the idea of Amane being Tenjou’s kid tbh but I suppose Amane being a less abrasive Rachel with less teleporting works too.
(CP spoilers ahead!)
I think Kagura only talks with Bang once in the game, but it turns out Bang already knows him. They were both Tenjou’s disciples. Bang is pissed at Kagura for good part of the conversation because he believes Kagura abandoned Ikaruga and Tenjou, but he takes it back when he finds out that Tenjou entrusted Homura to Kagura. Kagura is super hardcore into women though, and super into Noel*. Bang and Bullet had some good Moments though, like when Bang keeps trying to make her laugh because she’s so serious.
Tbh something like 30% of story mode is Ragna suffering.
I probably would’ve enjoyed this more had there been less Celica.
I know next to nothing about Bullet, like at all. So I’m glad to hear she has some Moments (I really wish I didn’t hate her character design quite so much though). The storyline for the new characters seemed kind of anemic (except Kagura) so some good character interaction might help :X
Ragna suffering is, as far as I can tell, the driving force behind the entire BlazBlue universe
(one Rachel is mostly enough for me, I think. Would have preferred less ~mysterious guy does mysterious mystery things~ in general for Amane tbh, even if the whole Tenjou thing didn’t pan out)
This reminds me that I have no idea what happened to Bullet and Bang after they encounter Relius and I honestly don’t know if I just missed it because I wasn’t paying that much attention, or if they straight-up forgot that Bullet was there. :S
Kagura’s not as obnoxious as I make him sound; he and Celica just have the unfortunate role of explaining the plot and being general Dei ex Machina and after awhile it’s hard to do anything beyond ‘oh god pls shut up and leave’ whenever they’re on-screen.
There’s one excruciatingly long scene with Ragna, Celica, Kagura and Kokonoe—I swear, it’s like half an hour long of people explaining plans and talking about feelings and UGH just thinking about it makes me hate every character involved. In fairness to Kagura, he is probably the least offensive character in said scene, in that he says the least. On the other hand, I feel like what little he does say adds a whole bunch of unnecessary dialog from Ragna so whatever.
Basically, everyone in Chronophatasma need to shut the fuck up so I can like them.
