So unsourced fanart is something that’s bugging me more and more - especially since I’ve noticed more and more pixiv artists removing work and deleting accounts. I really want to stress how important it is for artists to have some sort of control over their work, and while having control is hard on the internet, the least we can do is have a link back to the artist who made something. My shitty art takes enough blood sweat and tears to make, so I can’t even imagine what it’s like for an amazing artist to see there artwork posted somewhere without credit, (or even worse, “edited” without credit.)

There are sites and programs like saucenao and Tineye, but I’ve found that google’s reverse image search (which I believe they implemented last year) works better for me than either of those. So PLEASE, when posting art, please try one of these tools in order to give an artist credit for their work, and if you see an amazing piece of art in your favorite tag, please take a second and try to find the source before you reblog - I know it doesn’t always work, but when it does it’s so easy - I’ve put together this photo set to show just how easy it is.
